Wound Too Tight

At Brandeis University, Doctoral Composers have a two part dissertation. The first part is a theory paper and the second is an original composition. "Wound Too Tight" was written to satisfy the second part of the dissertation.

The piece can be roughly divided into three parts, though the work should be played continuously with no pauses. The title refers to a person suffering from a chronic disease. The piece is a series of episodes that reflect a week in the ill person's life.

"WTT" was premiered at Brandeis University by the Kenneth Radnofsky Saxophone Quartet in 2005.
